Description
A gbaHD build, either the OGBA or the SP, needs a couple of 12mm buttons, one for power and another one for reset. Also, you need a 3.5mm headphone jack, a PJ-391 if you plan on using the cases designed by jotheripper, or a PJ-392 if you plan to use one of our metal cases.
Our goal is to help you build your gbaHD smoothly, so you have different options here to choose from to buy everything you need in just one place.
We offer the buttons and headphone jacks completely unwired if you enjoy DIYing everything yourself, or now we also offer our hand-made, cleanly wired with JST connectors and flexible Kynar wires kit to give your build the same quality standard that we give to our customers that buy our pre-built gbaHD Metal.
Choose from our range of buttons the one that fits your needs. The silver-coloured ones are made of stainless steel and were custom-made for us to build our gbaHD Metal; the colourful and black ones, with or without LED lights, are from the Chinese brand Lanboo. This brand specialises in high-quality buttons, and despite they are a little pricier than whatever trash you can buy on AliExpress, it is a brand that it is well worth the price. They also fit well with our gbaHD Metal cases as we tweaked the colours at the factory to closely match the colour from Lanboo’s buttons.
For the wired combos on the selection menu, the power, reset and headphone jack come already prepared to directly be assembled on your gbaHD build plus their respective wires to solder onto the Spartan 7 FPGA board for power, and the reset and headphone jack for the GBASP motherboard.
NOTE: Our hand-made power and reset buttons along with their respective wires (Spartan power and SP reset) are made from thicker AWG22 Kynar wires. The 3.5mm headphone jack and its connector for the SP analog sound are made of AWG30 Kynar wires, be extra careful when connecting this as you can easily rip the tiny wires or even worse, damage your GBA motherboard pads. Try to avoid exerting pressure as much as possible when connecting or disconnecting them and use the proper tools for the task.
NOTE2: If you want to use our buttons on Jotheripper’s gbaHD 3D case, leave a message on the checkout notes so we send you the correct headphone jack for your build.
NOTE3: Leave us a note with your preferred colour combo for your buttons.
