zwenergy’s gbaHD project with Mancloud’s GBASP Shield in a premium matte black metal body. CNC-machined from a single block of aluminium, giving it a perfect, seamless look all across the different sides and angles. Heavily post-processed to achieve a silky-smooth finish and then anodised in matte black.
Top and bottom parts are made in MJF PA-12 nylon, ones of the most premium plastic materials used today in the EV industry. It’s hard, very scratch-resistant (apply common sense, please) and it ages beautifully like a good pair of full-grain leather shoes. It is easy to clean and it’s also very resistant to fingerprints, so it’s the perfect combination for a product on a desk monitor or TV that you may touch as often as you change cartridges. These parts are made of plastic to prevent blocking the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals on the FPGA board.
It’s not only a high-end product outside, but also inside. New custom-made gold-plated flex cables, made to fit like a glove inside the enclosure unlike the white and blue ones they sell on AliExpress. Custom-made power, reset and 3.5mm jack wires for a professional finish and no loose wires. All connections are made of flexible American Kynar silicone wires. Everything has been completely hand-made.
The GBASP motherboards inside are all in almost pristine condition, cleaned properly and re-capped to future-proof them.

Words of caution: don’t use any power supply that supports Power Delivery (PD). Always use a 5V/2A power supply/charger. ONLY 5V! No PD, No QC, no anything, please, read this before connecting the console to a power supply. You can damage the FPGA board inside. This is a limited edition drop, there are no replacements and the components inside are very hard to find to even attempt to repair a damaged system. It is also important to use good quality HDMI-to-HDMI Mini cables, try to avoid sketchy dongles from China.
PS: the gbaHD project is an Open Source project that anyone with the required parts can make, but Mancloud’s gbaHD Shield doesn’t include a commercial license, which means that I have been granted permission directly by him to be able to commercially release this.
